THE 2013 WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL’S CONFERENCE

The 2013 Western Pennsylvania Healthcare Professional’s Conference – A Huge Success!

Close to 130 area Nurses, Social Workers, Nursing home and personal care home administrators gathered with other senior service providers and caregivers to attend this ½ day conference held at the Double Tree Hotel in Green Tree on May 10th, 2013.

The speakers were informative and entertaining for all! Many attendees raved about the quality of the presenters; “Your speakers were great, knowledgeable, funny and engaging”.

The morning began with Bill McKendree, the Director of Apprise, discussing Medicare Covered Hospital Care: In-Patient vs. Observation Status.

Wright of UPMC Division of Geriatric Medicine and Peg Chabala, Dementia Education Specialist of Asbury Heights were very engaging as they presented dementia patient Care; “How Do you Know When They Hurt? How Do You Make Them Feel Better”?Conference-5Conference-4Howard J. Manns, provided information on “Understanding Today’s Generation: Ethics and Passion”.Conference-6Finally the morning ended with Julian Gray, CELA reviewing the “Top 5 Issues Affecting Long Term Care in 2013.”

The attendees were pleased with the topics that were covered as mentioned by one Nursing Home Administrator; “One of the best CE conferences I have been to!”

Many mentioned that they are already planning to join us next year on May 13th, 2014 for our full-day conference!
