On Tuesday, May 14th we held our seventh Annual Healthcare Professional’s Conference at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh/Southpointe. We had another year with a packed house full of Nurses, Social Workers, Nursing Home and Personal Care Home Administrators and care providers.

Bill McKendree, started out our day and provided an update on “Community Health Choices and the Coordination of Benefits”.
Bryan Doner, D.O. from Compassionate Certification Centers spoke about “Medical Cannabis in PA: A Providers Perspective” which left us with a better understanding about the uses and benefits of cannabis.
Amy Lafko of Carin Consulting Solutions presented “A War for Talent” providing tips on how to maintain a happy staff.
Robert E. Winters from the US Department of Homeland Security provided a riveting and informative program on “Active Shooter: Preparation and Response”.
Julian E. Gray, Owner of Julian Gray Associates and a Certified Elder Law Attorney, and the host for the day, wrapped up the conference with “What you Need to Know About the New Veteran Aid and Attendance Benefits”.

2019 League of Community Leaders Award Recipient

Joseph Zollars
of Harbour Senior Living of South Hills
The “LOCL” (League of Community Leaders) Award was presented to Alexis Skinner, Executive Director at Harbour Senior Living of South Hills, who accepted the award on behalf of staff member Joseph Zollars who was recognized for his many years of selfless service to the seniors in his community. Joseph was unfortunately unable to attend due to illness.
The award was provided by M.A.S.H. (Marketing Admissions Supporting Healthcare) and presented by Shandra Harcarik from Gallagher Home Health and Co-Chair of the networking organization. Julian Gray Associates presented the organization with a donation of $500 which will go to the American Cancer Society, as requested by Joseph.
