Frank Petrich, Certified Elder Law Attorney
Mr. Petrich, a Mt. Lebanon, PA resident was the first attorney certified as an Elder Law attorney in Western Pennsylvania. This certification was granted by the National Elder Law Foundation to him in 1999.
Mr. Petrich has a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, which he obtained while working full time at Pitt's Health Law Center and a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health. He then received his Law Degree from Duquesne University while employed as Assistant Executive Director at West Penn Hospital, also serving as in-house counsel after obtaining his law degree. Mr. Petrich was then President and CEO of a 600 bed mid-western hospital, including a nursing home and psychiatric facility, before his return home to Pittsburgh.
He has been active in the Pittsburgh area community, including the Allegheny County Bar Association where he is a past Chair of the Elder Law Committee and a Council member of the Probate and Trust Section, Mt. Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce (past President), Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors (past President), and is a former Board Member of the Mt. Lebanon Hospital Authority and Mt. Lebanon Village. He is a member of the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council.
He has also been named each year since 2006, a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in elder law and for those same years, for inclusion in the "The Best Lawyers in America" in elder law.
Mr. Petrich is also a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh, the Senior Action Coalition, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Partnership for Aging, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Pittsburgh Paddlefish, a Dragon Boat team.
Mr. Petrich & Mr. Gray also co-author a monthly "Elder Law Column" in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
